Bouncer: I’m sorry, you’re not on the list…

Today we are tackling the to-dos for the wedding, and up first and foremost is the guest list……(dramatic music plays here.) I have seen many a couple be taunted by the idea of putting down on paper those most important to them, weeding out the “kind of friends” from the “really really good friends”….the “close, meaningful family” from the “couldn’t tell you how we’re really related” individuals. Ah, the guest list is something of a monster; kept at bay and given strict boundaries, it just might live peacefully, side by side you and your hubby to be…but given enough room and thought, it can expand and grow beyond your wildest dreams, reeking unforeseen havoc on your budget and wedding visions for the perfect day. The venue we have chosen claims to seat 200 – but 150 is a number that allows guests to sit comfortably, without tables butting up against one another, so now we are faced with the great guest list debate…more to come.
